Timothy Bosque of San Rafael, California is an accomplished and well-known math teacher. He taught in multiple high schools throughout California, as well as one in New York City, before his recent retirement. Timothy has dedicated his life to helping students. He loved his teaching positions and also worked as a tutor for students needing additional help in mathematics. His tutoring strategy helped many students understand complex material, thanks to his method of constantly analyzing a student’s comprehension to determine how best to teach.

When Timothy took on a tutoring pupil, he would start by assessing how well the student understood the subject. Timothy would then draw on his years of experience as a teacher to point out and help the student avoid common mistakes. This helped boost the student’s confidence, which is very important when learning math. Timothy would fill in any gaps the student may have in the fundamentals, and then use real-life examples to help relate the math problem to something the student understands. Finally, he would ask probing questions to help students figure out new problems.

Timothy Bosque has a true talent for teaching math, and did so at Tamalpais, San Rafael, Point Loma, and Terra Linda high schools from 1986 to 2011. He then worked at New Heights Academy in New York from 2012 to 2018, when he retired. Timothy plans on continuing to help others during his retirement. He volunteers for the homeless in his community and may take a part-time job if he finds one serving others. Timothy has also said he’d be interested in tutoring underprivileged students.
